Overview

You’re a mobster divvying up stolen loot over eight rounds. Everyone’s armed with a foam gun and a hand of cards — five “click” blanks and three “bang” bullets. Point guns, decide who to scare off, and stay alive long enough to walk away the richest.

First Impressions

I first heard about this game via Instagram — a photo of people pointing foam guns at each other, yelling about loot and greed. That, I thought, is perfect for our group. Cash ‘n Guns is a light, quick game that puts everyone in the role of a mobster competing to come out richest — while staying alive.

We’ve only played twice, and we completely misplayed our second game (Wes ended up with all the loot both times — oops). Even with four players I could see how fun and chaotic this gets. More players is definitely better.

Thoughts

Cash ‘n Guns is quick and easy to learn. As a mobster, you have eight rounds to divide the loot from a robbery. Your goal: be richest at the end — but also stay alive. Each round, loot cards are laid out and everyone secretly chooses a “bang” or “click” card to play. The Godfather counts down, everyone points their gun at another player, and people decide whether to stay in for their share of the loot or back down to avoid getting shot.

The tension is real — and it all happens in seconds. You’re reading the room, deciding who’s likely bluffing, deciding whether this round’s loot is worth eating a potential bullet. If you get shot three times total, you’re out of the game.

Loot isn’t just cash. There’s art, diamonds, extra bullets, and health tokens. Diamonds and art stack for bonus points if you collect the most of a type — so the decision of which loot card to grab matters beyond just the face value.

The Godfather role adds a layer: that player can redirect one person’s gun during the holdUp phase. Rotating who has that power keeps things interesting.

With only four players the game can swing quickly toward one person. More players means more targets, more bluffing, and more chaos — which is where Cash ‘n Guns truly shines.

Conclusion

Cash ‘n Guns is simple to learn, great for a wide range of ages, quick to play, and consistently entertaining. It’s a party game where every person is their own team, and the foam guns make the whole thing feel ridiculous in the best possible way. Highly recommended for groups of 6+.
