From the Desk of V. Woolf — Researcher

February starts with more ground than January. We have two research stations, a new Quarantine Specialist on the team, and McGee’s adjacent-treatment ability. Red Death mutated last month — we can never cure it — but I’m staying optimistic.

February 1

Red Death is locked into Shanghai and Ho Chi Minh City. Black Plague is starting to slip. I can’t let it.

February 7

Struggling more than January. We get a handle on Black Plague and it spreads again. Red Death and Black Plague are both cycling faster than we can contain. Our Quarantine Specialist is holding the east together but barely.

February 14

Still no research station out east. That’s going to cost us. Our Specialist is quarantining everything he can — it barely holds. I refuse to think this is fruitless.

February 20

We cured Blueberry Rash. Late nights, quick thinking, Joshua finally got the information we needed. Progress.

February 22

Yellow Plague cured. Two cures this month. Our Scientist is out of action — we think she’s been isolated as a precaution, not infected. We hope she’s back in March.

February 27

Black Plague cured. Three out of four. I’m exhausted.

February 28

Ho Chi Minh is rioting. We couldn’t treat Red Death fast enough. We pulled our people out before scarring, at least. Not the ending we wanted. But March is coming.
