Overview

GTFO’s hardest room. A 45-minute mission to infiltrate, complete an objective, and escape undetected. Recommended for 6 players and experienced teams only.

Our Experience

We’d been waiting for this room since GTFO announced it — then had to wait longer after a fire delayed the opening, and again after a new baby pushed our plans back. When GTFO finally invited us out, the wait was completely worth it.

The Directive is GTFO’s hardest room, and they recommend 6 players for good reason. We fully agree — some sections require a partner to work through, and the room uses every team member meaningfully. Nobody was idle.

The puzzle design is exceptional. Everything connects — the room reveals itself incrementally, rewarding attention and teamwork. Several puzzles made smart use of technology without gimmickry. The design philosophy here is that nothing is decoration: every element has purpose and ties into the solution.

Do not do this as your first or second room. You need experience, familiar teammates, and strong communication. This is an earned room.

Conclusion

The Directive is everything an escape room should be — challenging, cohesive, and deeply satisfying to complete. One of GTFO’s best. Add it to your list.

Thanks to GTFO and their staff for the invite. Tell them Hexagamers sent you.
