From the Desk of V. Woolf -- Researcher

I have to hope that February will be better. I think it will. We started fighting these diseases with only our basic skills and a research station in Atlanta, but now we have an additional research station in Istanbul. McGee figured out how to treat diseases in adjacent cities which is a head start for us. I know she's worried but I am trying to keep the optimism strong, and keep our morale up. We recruited a new teammate this month. He's a strong Quarantine Specialist, and we're going to send him out east to focus on Red Death. He and I have developed a strong relationship already, and sharing research I think will be a great benefit to us and the team--and our world.

February 1

Last month Red Death was out of control. It mutated and we can no longer find a cure for it. I am hoping we can contain it at the very least. It seems like Black Plague is starting to get out of hand, though, and I need to work harder to find a cure. I don't want to burn out, but I have to think about our future.

February 7

We are struggling this month, and more I think than we were in January. I was hoping the rest would do us good, but it seems there's been no benefit. We get a handle on Black Plague and then it spreads again. We get a handle on Red Death and it spread again. It's locked into Shanghai and Ho Chi Minh City, and we can't get it out. There's nothing we can do except quarantine. Thank god we have  . And Kiss is working himself to the bone as he's trying to keep Blueberry Rash from spreading so rapidly. Everywhere we look, something is getting worse.

February 14

We have yet to build a research station out east, and that is going to be a mistake in our future. I would put money on it.  is staying out there and quarantining everything he can. It seems like he quarantines a disease, and then it breaks out again. I try not to believe this is all fruitless. At least we can keep some things under control...sometimes...

February 20

My optimism is holding out. We cured Blueberry Rash after some quick thinking and hard work from Joshua, Kiss and me. It's been tough. We're pulling late nights. But Joshua finally got the information he needed, and we're on the right path.

February 22

Yellow Plague is cured. CURED. We are doing so well. There's been so much progress, and I can't believe how well it's going, especially as [SCIENTIST] is down this month. I do not believe she contracted any of these diseases, but we cannot be sure, and we had to keep her away from us and the research until we know. Maybe she'll come back next month. Until then, we keep focusing on the goal ahead: a cure for Black Plague.

February 27

We did it. Black Plague is cured. I'm exhausted. I cannot even think of what else I need to do. I know we have so far to go, but I feel like this is a good sign.

February 28

I spoke too soon. Ho Chi Minh is rioting. We can't even treat Red Death, let alone cure it. On the positive, we did not build a research station in Ho Chi Minh and we pulled out our guys just in time to prevent scarring or injuries. But it doesn't seem like a good note to end the month on.
