From the Desk of T. McGee -- Medic

January 1

I don't know what's happening, but there are four viruses mutating and spreading rapidly across the globe. I've teamed up with V. Woolf (Researcher), F. Joshua (Dispatcher), and A.H. Kis (Scientist) in hopes we can eradicate these strains and protect our planet. I can't even think about what would happen if we can't get them under control. It's hard to know even where to start. Black Plague, Red Death, Blueberry Rash and Yellow Fever act in their own unique ways, spreading, infecting, mutating...it's terrifying. Right now, we've got a decent handle on public information but I don't know how long until it leaks and the public panics.

I don't know a lot, it seems, but I hope like hell I can treat some of these infections before there are too many outbreaks and god forbid, riots, looting, destroyed buildings, death tolls...I can't even think about the worst-case scenario.

We've got a good handle on Blueberry Rash and Yellow Fever, but Black Plague and Red Death seem to break out no matter what we do. Woolf is doing an excellent job of consolidating research and sharing it with Kis who is helping to contain the spread, but it's taking so long. We hope Woolf can find a cure soon.

Red Death is out of control. It mutated again, and Woolf tells us there's no hope for a cure. We can never eradicate it. How can that be? I'm focusing on treating it and reducing its impact. Joshua has contacts all over the world and they've built a second research station for us in Istanbul. Flying in and out is a breeze, though getting anywhere else is difficult. We'll need the contacts to build somewhere further east again, maybe in Shanghai or Ho Chi Minh City. It's an ugly scene out there, and we're likely to get riots soon.

We did it. We treated Blueberry, Yellow Fever and Black Plague. We're exhausted and we need rest, but we got them more or less under control. I'm so grateful for my team. We're going to take a few days, and focus on honing our abilities, spreading the wealth of our skills, adapting to our new situation. We can never cure Red Death, so our focus is going to be containment, but the others, we're still hopeful. I figured out a way to treat diseases in a nearby city, but it takes up most of my supplies and I can't do it often--but it's something, right? It's better than what it was, how we started.

Let's hope February is a better month.
